Under the Federal Aviation Regulations that govern Unmanned Aircraft Systems, any flying that is not strictly for personal pleasure or recreation, is, by definition, commercial flying. Whether the operator receives any compensation is irrelevant.
This was taken during one of my trips to the El Paso Mountains, which are in California’s Mojave Desert. This view is looking south, from the El Paso Mountains, toward the Rand Mountains in the distance.
Both mountain ranges are rich in mining history; mining ruins dot the landscapes in both ranges.
